Russ Russo is an award-winning American film and TV actor based in New Jersey (formerly Los Angeles). Trained in New York City, he has appeared in numerous TV shows, pilots, and films.
Notable credits include NBC’s Revolution, where he played a rebel hostage opposite Mark Pellegrino, and Catch Hell, directed by and starring Ryan Phillippe. He also starred in An Act of War, portraying an Iraq War veteran with PTSD; the film later reached Netflix’s Top 10.
Russo has worked on projects produced by James Franco, including a series based on The Ultimate Evil, and stars in the TV series Chaser, with distribution through Buffalo 8. He also appears in the upcoming thriller Night of Violence.
Beginning his career in theater, Russo trained in multiple acting techniques and gained recognition in New York’s indie film scene. He earned early acclaim for Land of College Prophets and Williamsburg, winning Best Actor at the Wine & Country Film Festival. Named “Indie Actor to Watch” by Film Threat, he has received multiple award nominations, including Maverick Movie Awards.
In addition to acting, Russo founded MC Actors Studio in Asbury Park , New Jersey, where he teaches on-camera acting.
